Important Recovery Instructions

Since the incision is often inside the mouth (intraoral), the following special care instructions must be followed:

• Oral Hygiene: Use an antiseptic mouthwash regularly after every meal to prevent infection.
• Diet: Stick to a soft, cold diet (e.g., yogurt) for the first 3 days; avoid hot or solid foods
• Cold Compresses Apply ice packs externally to the cheeks or chin to minimize swelling (first 48 hours).
• Sleeping: Keep your head elevated to reduce facial edema (swelling)
